I am fascinated by the handmade craft object. I enjoy its associative
values as something familiar from my childhood, but also its
unwarranted cosy connotations that can become thrilling when
subverted and distorted with the suppositious and traditional nature
of craft in folklore, fairs and ritual. This connects with my love of
the dark, glamorous and uncanny spectacle of theatre. Where the
beautiful unmasks the horrific.
