ZLata reIstetteroVa

       Born in Jakub, slovakia
lives and works in Kosice, slovakia

To quote Piet Mondrian: “The balance of opposites exists everywhere and controls everything.” The
artwork of zlata reistetterova, as presented here, is a continuation of her process of search for the simple and
fundamental within the complex, as well as of her deeper penetration into the mysteries of the micro-world,
which surrounds us. she is inspired by her own experiences and discoveries. Her artistic statement undergoes
consistent reappraisal, which she expresses in a way appropriate to her. Abstraction is not only an expression
of her “nature” and her “ideas”, but also of her “enjoyment of creativity.” revivals and interchanges of motifs in
her work signal a resounding and maturing of things experienced. reistetterova begins with the depths of cog-
nition, a search for fundamentals and emotional perception that persists and remains concealed as something
that is most precious in her soul. she creates in a place of peace and calm, attempting to capture the basic
simplicity of the ‘whole’ of a thing, and so the concept of her subject is expressed clearly and comprehensibly.
For an artistic statement, she is content with a detail, which she can then develop further using new connec-
tions. Through her means of expression she achieves variability of composition while harmonically attuning the
presentation of her colors. The overriding motif is love, love toward people, nature, the earth, the sun, water,
stones, the universe…also toward the unknown… which she leaves open to speculation for herself and for
every other perceptive being. The personality of zlata reistetterova is a conjunction of the perseverance and
the single – mindedness of the creative artist and the pedagogue.
