In his graphic artwork, Outburst, Hamo Cavrk reveals and underscores an unvarying focal point of reflec-
tion, the symbol of the cross, one of the four basic symbols, the other three being the circle, the square, and
the middle point. At the same time, he addresses the question of a decidedly constructive-geometrical thinking,
relying above all on color as the principal vehicle to reveal content. Fluctuating and vibrating on the surface,
while penetrating far into the depths, the colors in his works bear their own inner light like an immaterial aura
which maintains a certain contemplative emotionality despite the formal, long-established properties used,
such as the light and shadow of color, the compounding of color impressions, and the interaction between dif-
ferent colors. A multi-layered structure of planes evolves before our eyes. The graphic interplay could continue
endlessly in a fascinating chromatic kaleidoscope of transparent color planes and geometric patterns. The
refined light-effect, achieved by Cavrk, allows for an imaginative and extremely vibrant graphic structure, as if
the graphic print were placed in front of a mirror reflecting a lively and joyful conception of the sensual world.
Hamo Cavrk knows that only a revived or perfectionist line can enable him to create his own proper order,
an order that represents a transition from sensual hovering in a joyful perception of the sensory world to a
rationally coordinated scheme in which a new kind of asceticism emerges. At the same time, and perhaps most
significantly, his playfulness remains apparent, first in a relaxed intertwining of forms and then in the dissolution
of a fantastic image of a cube into a colorful vibration of lines. This represents a modern artistic response to
both the magnitude and the insignificance that characterize this epoch, a response that reveals Cavrk’s power
     for reawakening. (ALeKsAnder BAssIn,
