Adriano Pedrosa highlights Guidi’s innovative ceramic
techniques, noting that she blends expert craftsmanship with
artistic genius, making her a pivotal figure in contemporary
ceramics. Applied Arts Pavilion, Arsenale, Sale d’Armi Brazilian
artist Beatriz Milhazes presents seven large-scale paintings
and seven collages that merge Brazilian cultural imagery with
Western modernist influences. This year’s project, curated by
Adriano Pedrosa, marks the eighth edition of the collaboration
between La Biennale di Venezia and the Victoria and Albert
Museum (V&A) in London.
BIENNALE COLLEGE ARTE
For the 2nd edition of Biennale College Arte 2023/24, projects
by Agnes Questionmark, Joyce Joumaa, Sandra Poulson,
and Nazira Karimi have been selected. Each artist receives a
grant of 25,000 euros to complete their final work, which will
be showcased out of competition at the 60th International
Art Exhibition. Over 150 emerging artists under 30 from 37
countries applied for participation.
