risk of becoming a dull craftsman. I value an
intensive spiritual level of the artworks and it
does not matter in which style the painting
has been created. I observe everything and
select what is important from my point of
view and express my inner feelings rather
than outer reality.
Between 2016 and 2020, I was inspired by
houses in the shape of shoes and the rare
type of orchids, and created 52 oil on canvas
paintings. From 2020, my style slightly
changed. I aim at resemblance, observing
nature and objects and transferring them
into artworks by signs. The majority of my
artworks are multi-layered, some paintings
combine versatility and minimalism. I like
to integrate calm tones with contrasting
saturated hues. I often revisit my older
paintings and work on nuances and niceties.
I share the same attitude as Leonardo da
Vinci, “Art is never finished, only abandoned”.
Art critic Salvatore Russo had a few things
to say about my current painting. “We
understand the great complexity of Luana
Stebule’s art through the visual labyrinths
that the artist creates. Her painting is
learned and extremely effective. Her works
are comparable to the tablets of the law,
and thus profess their truths; truths that,
thanks to the perspective geometry, are
able to seduce the bystander who can’t
help but observe the landscapes of light
painted by the artist, all this in rigorous
silence and with great devotion.” Only in
2018, when I participated in Art Expo New
York, did I create my website in English
language and became more visible to the
