I also like exploring and showing unusual juxtaposing of things that
elaborate an idea or words, such as double headed taps grafted
like a branch, cords growing everywhere like trees. I see patterns
of shapes and enjoy showing similarities in objects such as clouds
and ice cream or a balloon and a lollipop. I like exploring words that
trigger shapes and shapes that trigger words, such as "a bold hold"
and "word mould/mold" and how the roots of a tree are molded by
objects in the environment, which in turn are molded by the roots.
I have explored this idea using concrete/visual poetry e.g. “River
Roots” (www.phillipspoetry.com). I am not bound by traditions and
have enjoyed exploring new media technologies to create art. I am
not bound by the rectangular frame either and am enjoying making
art that goes beyond the border in more ways than one.
