Life inspires me to create. Creation combines authentic existence,
the forms of eternal femininity and the state between existence
and nonexistence. In my works of art, I feel and shape myself. They
are like fractal paintings which help me to unravel my personality
and my state. Moreover, they help me to meditate and to cure
myself through creation... It is like a long borne baby; borne from
the moment when the vision was born, through the development
of the theme or subject, cardinal metamorphosis and an optimal
sense of freedom. The power of art is sometimes so great that
creation becomes the centre of life, the function of life and the
expression of the spirit.
By using various materials, by combining textile fabrics, ceramics,
paper, metal, plastic elements, I form new texture compositions.
I do not stick to any rules. The works of art evolve easily, they
comprise a number of genres and styles. I am not attached to any
of the techniques, textile or ceramics alone either. The search for
new means of expression helps to avoid monotony and encourages
to create in a way that makes the process interesting for myself.
Participation in subject exhibitions inspires me to create on global
subjects and to use new materials. The idea is often suggested by
the very name of the exhibition.
Yarns, fabrics and the heritage of folk art enchant me. They are
like musical instruments I enjoy playing and want to play. The
piece titled “Word“ shows the power of word. Words depress,
wound or heal; they wake you up for a new life and raise you
above the clouds... The motives of Lithuanian folk fine arts, specific
accents of mind strengthen the power of word. For this work, I
have used cotton, self-made paint that has been made from the
fruits of walnut tree that grew in my own yard. For the work “So
goes the world” I have used linen, an old net and dried real fish.
The composition symbolizes a wish to run away from routine, an
attempt to change something and analyzes the essence of our
temporary existence: “Who are we?”, “Why are we here?”, “Eternity
is not meant for us?”… The views open like a spider’s web which
has been netted to involve the participant… who will come out of
the net being different, being touched upon by sensitive emotions
and the new reality.
