Pat GaGIC
1953 born in Montreal, quebec
lives and works in ontario, canada
Analogous to many abstract artists, Patricia gagic, sacrifices the natural beauty of the conceived object in
order to interlineate its essential form to the observer, but her perception of the object is highly personal.
The perception of her ‘imitated-images’ depends on the viewer. An optimist might interpret a piece of her
work as a representation of “dawn”, while a pessimist would see the same piece as “dusk”, and a roman-
tically inclined soul will interpret it as “snow in the moonlight” or something ghostly or non-living. And
then there are those who will generate the superior smile of a person who knows ‘exactly’ what the image
means! Patricia knows that not all people are capable of seeing the ‘unseen’ and she skillfully applies her
artistic gift of graphic visualization so that the images literally force you to stand in front of them, filled with
unknown passion. There are some who will look for symbolism in the patterns, design, or color, in gagic’s
art, but her abstract art pieces are more than that. The images challenge you to not only interpret their
hidden messages, but also to understand the reason for their, and your own, existence. What is beautiful or
clear to one person may look confusing to another but one thing is certain, the abstract artworks created by
Patricia gagic are visually striking, rich in color, intriguing in design, and simply irresistible.
