of Babylon; it is symbolic of complex hedonistic society that becomes
                                                                 unwieldy and top heavy when it’s desire for power and dominion over
                                                                 the  physical  plane  of  existence  supersedes  the  importance  of  the
                                                                 cultural and spiritual aspects of a great civilization.
                                                                 “Queen Nutt - Mother of the Universe & the Leviathan” 16”x 24”
                                                                 original oil study: in the second portal or side two of the stabile, queen
                                                                 Nutt, the Egyptian Mother of the Universe, is represented by the star
                                                                 filled figure arched over the portal in the light of a waning moon. In
                                                                 the foreground we see the black & white tiles which represent endless
                                                                 days and nights stretching into eternity. with her finger-tips touching
                                                                 the life giving waters, representing the emotional state, queen Nutt
                                                                 is symbolically evoking the cycle of life.
                                                                 The crayfish, known as one of the early unchanging life-forms, is crawl-
                                                                 ing out of the water and starting to travel the path of life. The Pathway
                                                                 leads through many obstacles towards the Divine City while the Twin
                                                                 Towers stand sentinel in the background. The Towers represent the
                                                                 first two pillars; Bol & Jal or Black & white, Light & Dark, good & Evil.
                                                                 In ancient times the twin towers or pillars signified that “This Place is
                                                                 Established!” The journey is always on the pathway; on the way to the
                                                                 city... this is the building and developing stage of the journey. As the
                                                                 Artist comments,”going to town is what it’s all about. ”Please recognize
                                                                 the dogs howling at the waning moon as a warning that the graveyard
                                                                 is just at the end of the pathway at the gateway to the city!
                                                                 This  is  to  symbolize  that,  “only  those  who  intend  to  arrive  will  get
                                                                 there” & that many will fall away before they reach their destination
                                                                 because they have squandered and wasted all their resources in riot-
                                                                 ous living, having given up their dreams and aspirations. Over head in
                                                                 the night sky is the constellation of Leviathan with Corvis the crow and
                                                                 the golden chalice pouring out eternal life while it’s being devoured.
                                                                 This is the true nature of the universe which is in a state of perpetual
                                                                 re-creation.
                                                                 “Of  death  &  Transfiguration”  16”x  20”  original  oil  study  on  linen
                                                                 ©1990:  in  the  third  portal  or  side  three  of  the  stabile,  The  Lord  of
                                                                 karma waits with his scythe by the entrance to the Portal, to sever
                                                                 the connection to the path of life on the physical plane. In the distance
                                                                 we see Charon who ferries the souls across the river Styx though the
                                                                 pillars of the gateway to the Isle of the Dead. Over head the Cranes
                                                                 are carrying the souls to Heaven.  In clouds of glory we see the City
                                                                 Divine, it is time to enter the City of god.

                                                                 where one soul ends up at his/her passing to the other side of the
                                                                 veil depends on their opinion of where they’ve spent their conscious
                                                                 life believing they would end up at the time of their transfiguration.
                                                                 The black & white tiles again symbolizing endless days & nights. The
                                                                 beautiful  rose  arches  toward  the  earth  from  whence  it  came.    The
                                                                 eye of the undying flame symbolizes the infinite Love of the Heavenly
                                                                 Father for all of the whole creation on both sides of the veil, before,
                                                                 during & after life.
