Marlie Burton-Roche, a Canadian visual artist and political activist, worked
for many years with the revolutionary popular movement of El Salvador. Much
of her artwork is reflective of that period. But when asked to delineate her
more recent artwork she describes it as ‘soundless declamation.’
Marlie was born and raised in rural Alberta, educated in Toronto and has
spent time in the Middle East and Latin America. Her paintings have been
exhibited in Canada, the U.S.A., and in Europe.
