possibility of feeling the tendency toward harmony with the
revolution of her frameworks; this is a “controlled explosion,“ where
even the worst explosive moments are under the artist’s control.
The artist uses very old weaving techniques -the haute lisse - to
which are added others, like the double warp that enables the
creation of relief, and the sumac that allows lines to be “drawn” in all
directions. Erica has a kind of reserve toward the newest expressions
in art. She doesn’t look for innovation for the sake of innovation.
Notwithstanding her acquaintance with the history of art and
present artistic practices, her work represents a creation that has its
origins in the deep human experience. This experience is not
connected to any specific and defined expression of the present or
the past, because the artist hears and presents one single voice -
that of her own soul, which imposes itself on her. She feels herself to
ROW MATERIAL be an instrument for the expression of the personal experience
TAPESTRY together with the universal one. This is the experience beyond
