                                                                   The Dadaists, with their love for the irrational and the chaotic, sought to
                                                                   undermine the certainties of the pre-war world. Ferrara’s art, in its embrace
                                                                   of the unexpected and its challenge to social norms, channels the Dadaist
                                                                   spirit of rebellion. Fina Ferrara, much like these predecessors, does not
                                                                   merely create art; she creates experiences that demand participation -
                                                                   mental, emotional, and sometimes physical - from her audience.
                                                                   Her work, spanning performances and video art, bridges the past and the
                                                                   present, reflecting the timeless quest of artists to explore and express the







            Both artists use their bodies as the primary site and medium of their art,
            pushing their physical and emotional limits to engage with the audience.
            Abramovic’s performances often require a significant degree of interaction
            and endurance, characteristics that can also be seen in Ferrara’s work.
            They share the concept of performance as a two-way exchange, where
            the viewer’s reaction is part of the piece. Fina Ferrara’s approach to art,
            deeply rooted in the performative and the visceral, draws comparisons
            with several iconic figures from the annals of art history, each of whom
            disrupted the status quo of their time with groundbreaking work.
            Marina Abramovic, the matriarch of performance art, also explores the
            limits of body and mind, challenging viewers’ perceptions of space, time,
            and physicality. Ferrara’s physical engagements and emotional rawness
            echo Abramovic’s efforts to connect with the audience on a profoundly
            personal level. Like Francis Bacon, whose contorted figures and emotionally
