vilmar Madruga was born in Rio
grande do Sul, Brasil, in 1951.His
paintings have been displayed in
some bresiliens halls and in itinerants
exhibits for the word peace in London,
Paris, new York and Baghdad.

As a teacher, he carries out an art
project with some prisoner in Rio de
Janeiro, having been the curator of
the exhibit “A Cor do Carcere” (The
Color of Prison), wich was held at the
Historical Museum of Rio de Janeiro
and gathered the works of students
imprisoned in the Penal Colony vieira
Ferreira neto, in niteroi.

He also coordinates the Art workshop
at “Casa da Paz” (Peace House),
forme site of vigário geral slaughter,
now made into a center of culture and
resistance to violence by the Project
“viva-Rio” (Long Live Rio). vilmar
Madruga’s work has permanent
exhibition in Buzios, Rio de Janeiro.

My visual territory is linked to simples
things available to look. It’s feed from
modernity of un word that make me
happy or frighten me. The painting is
the medium to express these word
vision or what’s mind the creative
artistic in time of image crise.
