entropy principles in his abstract
paintings. The title may be conceived
as a symbolic denomination of the
relation between order and chaos
a n d , i n t h i s c a s e , t h e a r t i s t i c
challenge to arrange the space of a
painting in a powerful composition.
Less is more - that is the principal
rule of entropy by Ulf Westman. In
every separate field of the painting,
the paint is completely blended and
entropy has reached its maximum.
With a highly developed sense of
proportions, contrasts and color,
h e c re a t e s a p i c t u re ex c i t i n g
curiosity or inviting to a moment of
contemplation. However simple such
a painting can seem, it rests on a very
s tric t mathematic al c alculation.
And whenever passion practices
mathematics, there is art.
