Each painting of the artist attracts viewers by its singularity
and originality. Observing them closely, one can, in our
opinion, single out three main peculiarities of the artist’s
pictorial method. First of all, its author’s striving to see the
nature in his own way, to approach it as close as possible, to
see its beauty and enigma and to encourage his viewers to
be carried there, to stay there, in those unique picturesque
places in Precarpathian and other regions, depicted genuinely
by the author with so much love. Secondly, Oleg Chuyko’s
artistic manner is characterized by exquisite craftsmanship,
he creates on silk brilliant relief lines, forming the basis of
composition and plot, reminding of a graphic pattern on some
picturesque background, and creating the feeling of paradox
in the space depicted. And thirdly, every picture of the artist
is astonishing in its amazingly rich color scheme, different
tints, the subtlest color changes. And behind all this one can
feel large emotional supply, joy of immediate perception,
admiration for the sights. we are not only captivated by such
nature, but also encouraged to give some thought to the entire
universe beauty and perfection, to the necessity to care and
spare. (excerpt)

Original and at the same time lyrical theme for Chuyko is his
delight in flowers as phenomenal sparks of beauty. There the
author duly demonstrated skills of operating shades of colors,
expressivity of lines and fragmentation of composition. The
artist is attracted by unusual city landscapes with symbolic
culture space, which demonstrate historical length of
centuries. Recently the artist has been still more attracted
by abstract combination and various figures crossing on the
canvas, allowing the expression of intellectual constructions,
complicated paradoxically of the transformed space. They
are hardly to be named pictures. They are probably artifacts
of visualization, distant traces of “orphism”, which are easily
contemplated.
