For me, the “pool” is naturally connoted with “water,” but through this if I start drowning? My artwork attempts to reach out to the viewer
connotation also with “fleetingness” and “uncertainty.” As a confined by evoking childhood memories – of something that may have never
space filled with liquid, it spawns questions: what kind of liquid is it? happened. This time, you are caught up in a giant doll’s dream. You will
what if the pool is filled with blood? will I wake up from my dream float in a pool of viscous liquid as long as the doll is asleep.

Irina Urumova is an experimental photographer and illustrator. An
alumna of the warsaw School of Photography and the Spanish CICE
School of new Technologies, Urumova mainly works in the digital
medium. Her photographic work is an exploration of urban existence,
marked by impermanence and transience; it is a journey beyond the
physical surface and into the dreamier and darker aspects of a mind
shaped by living in a city. Following the approach of aleatoric art,
Urumova’s photography is premised on the idea that everything is in
constant flux and an object as seen over time is a sum of subtly different
perceptions, shaped by many a factor from the identity of the beholder
and his/her mood to the time of the day.
